Clarion Girl

Clarion Girl

A Clarion Girl is a Japanese campaign girl chosen to represent the Clarion car audio products in television and print advertising campaigns. A new representative is chosen annually, and many careers have been launched or enhanced due to being selected during the annual contest. The Clarion Girl campaigns began in 1975 with the selection of Agnes Lum as the first Clarion Girl. Setsuko Karasuma, Masumi Miyazaki, and Renhō were chosen in following years. As of 2002, Clarion stopped selecting one per year, and began working jointly with Fuji TV, expanding into internet advertising.

Up until the end of 2005, products in Japan were marketed under the brand name AddZest, while outside of Japan the same product typically carried the Clarion name brand. This was changed in 2006, and the brand "Clarion" along with a redesigned logo are now used worldwide. It is known for its close relationship with Nissan, who uses Clarion products almost exclusively in its vehicles, and owned a 6.25% share in them until 2002.[1] Clarion has an OEM relationship with many automotive companies, providing car headunits and components to them for their production vehicles. Clients include Suzuki, Ford, Volkswagen, Proton, Subaru and Peugeot.[2] A contest is held annually to select the Clarion Girl, who is chosen to represent Clarion's car audio equipment in television and print advertising campaigns during the following year. The contest was started in 1975, and is now co-sponsored by Fuji TV.

Girl car

Girl carA girl car or girl's car refers to a model stereotypically associated with women. Examples of cars that have features that appeal to women and are associated with that gender include the Peugeot 206cc, of which only 12% of buyers were male[1] , Perodua Myvi , Atos Opel Tigra[2]. Girl cars tend to be cheap, little, cute and gutless[2]. Some manufacturers have designed cars specifically for women, such as a Volvo S60-based concept car unveiled in 2004[3] and a model designed by Iran Khodro[4]
