2011 Jaguar XKR-S at Geneva Autoshow

The Jaguar XKR-S made a surprise debut at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show. The first Jaguar XKR coupe was in 2005 although the shape dates back to the old design of Jaguar designs found in their 1998 Jaguar XK 180 concept. The design change for the brand has been a evolutionary change over the changes rather revolutionary. Jaguar says that it is the quickest car they have built over the years. The XKR-S engine is a 5 litre V8 engine producing 550 horsepower and 680nm of torque. It accelerates from 0-100km/h in 4.5seconds .The Jaguar is not  only a sport sports sedan but it is also luxury on the inside, it has a 16 way driver and passenger seat adjustment and a heated seat.

The XKR-S is available in five paint colours. Its 20” alloy forged wheels are made by Vulcan and the tires are made by Pirelli P Zero. Apart from the distinguishing factors of colour and wheel it receives an extra 40 horsepower and 55nm of torque compared to the standard XJR and it weighs at 1753kg.The XKR-S also sports lower side skirts and a rear spoiler for better down force, in the front there are four air intakes in the hood as well as a dual air intake in its nose for better cooling of it radiator at high speeds. Jaguar has done a great job in the design department of conserving with their heritage. It may have the power of the exotic car but its handling is more likely to demonstrate muscle car. Auto journalist from around the world will be reviewing this car later during the year to see how this would compare with the new BMW M3 and the Audi RS5 from Germany.
